oh danny boy

(buddha indian restaurant)

four photos from the weekend
to sum up my wonderful friend daniel.

(buddha indian restaurant#2)

ridiculous, quirky, fun, and kind.
honestly the most constantly positive person i know, i think.

(ben&josh's apartment aka beer pong slosh fest)

i'm really going to miss him.
he's definitely the best thing about potsdam,
arguably the best thing about germany in general, too.

black and black and feces all over

back to leipzig this weekend for an all out goth fest
and to see jessica too, of course.

i learned that goths are disgusting consumers
just like the rest of society,
and that they don't just dress like disaffected carnies
but some also like to look like LSD-addicted ravers.
well, that or halloween hotties (graphically exposed privates)

overall there weren't enough of the feral, blood thirsty kind
that chase children down dark alleyways before unhinging their jaws
and swallowing the tiny tots like tater tots... if you know what i mean.
they were more the smiling, let's-take-lame-photos-in-front-of-trees
sort of bunch, that sans human heart ate currywurst instead.

i slept on jessica's dirty laundry,
ate crepes at craig's,
and met a super bitchy visitor
whose every word incited awkward silence!
things have again been put into perspective :)

(i think she took a dump in her petticoats and/or bag)
((and i'm jealous!))

ginger tea, coffee with honey, sweet chili sauce

it's been fun times with candice lately.
she's introduced me to a lot of amazing food combos
and interesting things in general.
we went to the Inauguración Expo Umsetzen at the Freies Museum,
and it was a pretty mixed media / crowd with overpriced drinks.
ate some turkish food and drank red wine per usual.

some couple invited me to their house,
and i wasn't sure what their intentions were,
but they live right by where i work,
so who knows when i'll run into them next.

6 paintings turned out to be 6 line sketches on paper
plus some other works i can't remember.
what is it with student art that's so forgettable?

7 weeks DE + NYC days + SF visits -> good times!

learned at work

oh ponycocks.
i made these at work today.
they may look nice, but i don't think they actually have a point.
i have learned that eHow has one of the worst interfaces
for any website i have seen in awhile.
also that they don't answer emails in a timely fashion.

also that some tasks seem impossible,
and some actually are,
but with enough bullshit and charts and bells and whistles
people are still impressed.
i'm feverish and freezing at the same time.

i can sing my boss's ringtone
(did you know if a singular common noun ends in s, add 's—unless the next word begins with s. If the next word begins with s, add an apostrophe only. (This includes words with s and sh sounds.)
and i know when to quickly switch from antm & fat blogs
to a generic webpage about demand media.
did i mention i earn 1.50 euro(s?) per hour!?
i have friday off i have friday off i have friday off
and i couldn't be more excited.

potsdam revamped

i live here.

i drink this.

i flee in 2 months.

Electronic Town

the C/O Gallery was such a sanctuary
in opposition to the (still) disgustingly cold and rainy berlin weather.
our tutor mel invited us, but later ditched us at the coffee shop afterwards.
i don't think she likes ginger tea.

pretty amazing photography in some cases.
the photos really make me want to travel
and take more photographs while i'm here.
my favorites are below:

Anne Schönharting (Auroville, India)

Sibylle Bergemann (Berlin, Germany)

Heinrich Völkel (Gaza City, Palestinian territories)

Pepa Hristova - "Electronic Town" (Tokyo, Japan)

beer pong, the double döner dilemma, and the boy with the half-rotten tooth

i wandered around mauerpark after a ridiculous weekend,
which included playing beer pong after who knows how long,
playing it for who knows how long (considering how much i drank),
eating 2 chicken döners and having the worst breath imaginable,
and witnessing card tricks with a boy with a HALF - ROTTEN TOOTH!

i managed to successfully avoid potsdam(n) for another weekend,
and had an overall great time wandering and enjoying the sites.

mauerpark was more full than i'd ever seen it before,
and the karaoke music was terrible as usual
(i think they were singing wannabe by the spice girls at this point).
i had my hair in a ponytail.

...also this happened on the way back:

i assume springing up rather than crossing one's path
means ultimate reverse bad luck and possible possession
in one's sleep. let's wait and see.
