the dinner at le jules verne in the eiffel tower
was the best meal i will probably ever eat in my life.
i thought it best to at least mention it here:
ENTRÉES / STARTERS
HOMARD de nos cótes en rémoulade, salade de pommes sauvages
French lobster in remoulade, wild apple in salad
ENDIVES de pleine terre, jambon/truffe/comté
Baked chicory, ham/truffle/comte cheese
POISSON & VIANDE / FISH & MEAT
Blanc de TURBOT á la plancha façon Dugléré
Pan-searen turbot, Duglere-style
Noisettes de CHEVREUIL aux poivres róties en cocotte, garniture d'hiver, sauce grand veneur
Medallions of venison with peppers, roasted in a casserole, winter vegetables, grand veneur sauce
DESSERTS
Fin Palet FRAISES DES BOIS/CITRON VERT, jus passion/mangue
Wild strawberry/green lemon shortbread, passion fruit/mango sauce
L'ÉCROU AU CHOCOLAT et praliné croustillant, glace noisette
Tower bolt, dark chocolate praliné, hazelnut ice cream
--
the tower bolt was my favorite (it was deliciously silky), closely followed by the venison medallions (i like bloody meat now!), but all of it was incredible. the company was great too, of course :)

dirty carrots
i'm sitting at work
after 2 hours of sleep (again!!!)
eating dirty carrots and
researching the most popular
comics in germany over
the last twenty years
for people 14-30.

too good to be true oh man oh man!
fouaddi likes nice hotels,
and fancy cars,
and reviewing photos on a boat,
but not the mona lisa. oh no, not her.

mid-yearsies
so i had my mid-year seminar in Cologne like a month ago (even though it feels longer).
i met some more people from the program, caught up with some old ones,
ate a lot a lot a lot of indian food, and avoided the computer the whole time.
it was a pretty nice change! i slept very little and sometimes in a train station, which is not a change but still okay.
i didn't take a dump outside, but I need to at some point to complete the year.
some awkwardness ensued, but the details are pretty lame.
and i didn't see frau beerbaum, and i hope she's not dead on the couch.
anyway good trip good trip.
murray and mark happened to be there for a sofa expo, and i saw this amazing fat guy stuffing his face. STUFFING HIS FAT FUCKING FACE! love it :)

roller coaster!
emotions are tricky things...
like food! speaking of which:
37. Food is mean and sneaky. it tricks you into eating it and it works on you from the inside out making you fat, bloated, ugly and unhappy
not to mention:
11. Bones are clean and pure. Fat is dirty and hangs on your bones like a parasite
and finally (and most relevant during this time of the year):
25. I want to walk in the snow and leave no footprints
anyway it's been awhile and i gotta backtrack with the next few posts,
but for now know that i am staying sane and safe and that i hate the snow.
