the screen life

my life has become about staring into
a multitude of electronic screens.

let's count em up:
1. imac (apt) - 2-3 hours, various
2. imac (work) - 7 hours, mon-fri
3. macbook pro - 2-3 hours, weekends
4. nintendo ds (screen x 2) - varies
5. LG Vu Plus cell phone - 30 min, everyday
6. television (apt) - 30 min-1.5hr, most days
7. projector screen (screening room) - 1.5-2hrs, infrequently
8. kindle - growing amounts of time
9. ipod - 20-30min, everyday
---
(i'm still too scared to add up the total hours)

what happened to the carefree days when i
could sit outside and sketch in my notebook?
or read american psycho in a park?
or bike for hours and not feel guilty?
time to shift focus and reprioritize.

learned at work

oh ponycocks.
i made these at work today.
they may look nice, but i don't think they actually have a point.
i have learned that eHow has one of the worst interfaces
for any website i have seen in awhile.
also that they don't answer emails in a timely fashion.

also that some tasks seem impossible,
and some actually are,
but with enough bullshit and charts and bells and whistles
people are still impressed.
i'm feverish and freezing at the same time.

i can sing my boss's ringtone
(did you know if a singular common noun ends in s, add 's—unless the next word begins with s. If the next word begins with s, add an apostrophe only. (This includes words with s and sh sounds.)
and i know when to quickly switch from antm & fat blogs
to a generic webpage about demand media.
did i mention i earn 1.50 euro(s?) per hour!?
i have friday off i have friday off i have friday off
and i couldn't be more excited.

i am the modern jesus christ

no seriously.

yesterday i was photographed in my underwear
in this chain smoker's near-empty studio
with a group of older american/english people
plus a german who looked and spoke exactly like björk
standing around smoking and drinking red wine.
it's for the updated cover of ken shakin's book the cure for sodomy.

anyway the photographer nathan wright
gave me tips on local, abandoned nazi barracks
and he's photoshopping my body to look like
it's being electrocuted on the cross.

will post photo as soon as i get my hands on it :)
