departed

1 week ago i left germany to come back to america.
why does it seem like so much longer?

we flew lufthansa. i didn't steal another blanket,
even though i really wanted to. i've changed!
some people got drunk before and on the flight,
but that's nothing new as far as the program :)

i sat next to brittany grassar again due to our names
and possibly my mid- and end-year reports.
i had a great time chatting with her about the year
and reminiscing about tick bites and kidney stones.
she lives close so i'll see her again no doubt!
back at home and coping with feelings of repression...
more to come!

oh, and downloading lots of new music.

anyway, here's a list of blogs i use to keep the songs rotating:

Scottish Friction
DISCO DEMONS
Hot Biscuits
Cassette Culture
Squeegie
Pipedown
HUSH HOUSE

20 Jahre Mauerfall

the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall was pretty epic.
epically rainy and cold that is.
i got to see bon jovi play and stand around in a sea of people,
many wielding large umbrellas.
for the celebration they knocked down a wall of dominoes
that had been painted by local students.
the students were dressed in silver space jackets for some reason.
i also peed in the jewish memorial without realizing what it was.
i just really had to go!
it took me until today to recover,
but it was well worth the wait!

many clips of the event follow:

hidden fees

$311.88 extra charges for the governor's square apartment
where i haven't lived for a long, long time
(the apartment was described as a "filthy unit"!)
and the potential german test i slept through
are not good additions to a rainy day!
(still without functioning bike, no less)
